Vigo is the leading Spanish port in terms of fresh fish unloading, and a world reference in fishing for human consumption; mainly due to its refrigeration and frozen industry, with annual figures above 800,000t. More than 80% of the Vigo fishing traffic is frozen fish.
At the Port Authority of Vigo, 26 refrigeration facilities offer a storage capacity of 829,718 m3, and a global freezing capacity of almost 1,000 t per day.
The Container Terminal is specialized in reefer traffic (1,300 connections available). All health and inspection services (BIP, Soivre, Border Health Control) are concentrated along with it to streamline all operational and documentary procedures.
